This past winter I was lucky enough to take a ski trip with my family up to Whistler in British Columbia, Canada. The snow was amazing, with over cm of snow as the base layer.
It was a long travel day including two hours in a car, two and a half hours on a plane, and five hours on a bus. Of course, I cam prepared with some of my travel essentials to keep myself comfortable and occupied. Ray Bans Sunglasses. Rosebud Salve. Bose Noise Canceling Headphones. In total I spent five full days skiing, and loved every minute of it. I skied on both Whistler and Blackcomb, Blackcomb being my preferred mountain of the two, but both were amazing.
Since it was freezing and snowed for two days I made sure to pack many layers of thermals, fleeces, and jackets. My favorites were my Patagonia fleece , Columbia jacket and Uniqlo heat tech.
My favorite ski run is called Seventh Heaven. The name says it all, the view from the top was heavenly. It is high enough to be above the snowing clouds and it has the most amazing view as well as the Inukshuk statue, which was the symbol of the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.
I rode on the Peak to Peak gondola, which is a major attraction for both skiers and non skiers. It is a world record breaking gondola standing over feet above the ground at its highest and spans between the Whistler and Blackcomb peaks, providing an unparalleled view of the mountains.
